This radio design is called Range Max and it features patented antenna which delivers enhanced range while maintaining the slim radio profile and battery life.
Very interesting technology applied in this radio are its LEDs behind the radio housing. It is so called Active View display and it is shatterproof and energy saving (it turns off when not in use).
Motorola SL1600 is a rugged and durable radio. It is IP54 rated that makes it dust and splash proofed. It also underwent Motorola’s Accelerated Life test which simulates 5 years of hard use.
